Restoration work on the ancient temples of the Acropolis will take another 35 to 40 years unless the Greek government increases funding, the project chief said.
Efforts to restore the columned Parthenon and other 2,500-year-old temples, scarred by pollution and earlier repairs, began in 1975.
``We have completed 40 percent of the project,'' said Haralambos Bouras, chief of the Committee for the Restoration of the Acropolis Monuments. ``If we continue at this rate, it will take another 35 to 40 years to complete it.''
