Like a favorite aunt who comes calling every so often, ``Swan Lake'' is periodically revived by Pacific Northwest Ballet.
The 15-year-old production is filled with predictable moments, broken by surges of electricity and pockets of emotional resonance.
However, Tuesday night at the Opera House, I realized this aunt is looking a little dowdy and provincial. The old decor, with its sparse, Gothic accents, has served its purpose well enough, but it's time for the production to be retired. Everything, including the ballet's very concept, needs fresh ideas.
