The Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday approved a California company's plan to create an electronic bulletin board to help the trading of its common stock.
Real Goods Trading Corp., a Ukiah, Calif., company that sells alternative energy and conservation products, became the first corporation to win SEC backing of an Internet bulletin board for its shares.
The proposal is one of many that the SEC expects to receive from companies that hope to turn the Internet into a new avenue for trading stocks and bonds.
Under the Real Goods proposal, investors will be able to post notices on the company's Internet site that list their name, ...
