If stupidity were a crime, an accused con man who was cooling his heels last night in the King County Jail would be facing a second felony charge.
The 57-year-old Seattle man made some major blunders Thursday when he tried to pass a stolen, forged check at a downtown Seafirst Bank branch.
First, he fled when a teller got suspicious. Then, he came back to retrieve the ID card he had left behind - an ID bearing his own photo and his real name.
But his most serious mistake may have been messing with Mason the Teller. Mason, it seems, is a crackerjack at uncovering con men, said Pike Street branch manager Jeri Jump. In the past two weeks alone, ...
