It's still summer, but for the Seattle Thunderbirds it's already time to play hockey.
The T-Birds report to training camp today for a week-long schedule at the University of Calgary. The first preseason game is Aug. 30, with the regular season opener Sept. 20.
The Thunderbirds finished the 1995-96 season with a 29-36-6 regular season record and were eliminated by Kamloops in the opening round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.
But after a series of trades during the season, the T-Birds finished with a youthful look, and many of those players will return.
``We've positioned ourselves well with the moves we made,'' said Seattle coach ...
