Yesterday was the first day of practice for the Husky basketball teams.
Bob Bender, who has already injected so much energy into a once-dormant men's program, is now the resident old-timer in just his fourth year.
On the women's court, however, a different era dawned, now that June Daugherty is in charge.
What new work got under way in this different era?
Well, zone defenses will now be part of the women's repertoire, casting a shadow over the back-breaking man-to-man ``Husky Defense'' that was this program's hallmark.
