A doggedly upbeat President Clinton last night encountered an attack dog in Bob Dole as the Republican presidential nominee sought to infuse momentum in his lagging campaign.
Dole was on the offensive from the opening question, in which a schoolteacher from the audience quoted a sixth-grader asking how Americans could ``come together'' and that politicians ``stop fighting amongst yourselves.''
