We have rap-master Ruby. And preacher-lady Ruby. And even Ruby Goose, irreverent daughter of the most whimsical of all mothers.
But we don't get much in the way of character. Nor do we get much in the way of story.
Ruby Dee's ``My One Good Nerve,'' currently receiving its premiere performance at A Contemporary Theatre, is not so much a theater piece as an anthology of poems, word pictures, editorials and jokes.
Ruby Dee is best known as a screen actress, with credits ranging from ``A Raisin in the Sun'' in 1961 to ``Jungle Fever'' in 1991. She has also done a lot of television and stage work and she has won a lot of awards.
