An apple juice trade association has attacked Odwalla for its labeling in the wake of the E. coli contamination linked to the death of one person and the illness of 60 more.
For several weeks in November and December, the company stamped its products ``contains no apple juice,'' the ingredient blamed for the outbreak.
The labeling ``unfairly and misleadingly implies to consumers that all apple juice is unsafe for human consumption,'' Larry Davenport, the executive director of the Processed Apples Institute of Atlanta, recently wrote to the company.
