Hong Kong is officially set to be handed over to China June 30.
But a de facto transfer of sovereignty happened Saturday in Shenzhen, a border town in southern China, as Beijing appointed a puppet legislature that will eventually replace Hong Kong's elected Legislative Council.
It is the beginning of the end of human rights and the rule of law in Hong Kong.
