When the Dallas Symphony Orchestra paid its first visit to Birmingham's Symphony Hall almost exactly three years ago, it felt like coming home.
The explanation for this apparent paradox? Simple. Dallas's Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center was designed by New York acoustic wizards Artec immediately before Symphony Hall. The family resemblance between the two is apparent at a glance, even before a note has been played.
