Aug. 18--Summer vacation toned down the number of non-farm jobs in New York state and the Capital Region in July, but monthly totals still remain at record highs.
State Department of Labor statistics released Thursday show 454,600 non-farm jobs in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy area, compared to 462,600 the month before.
Last July, there were 448,900 non-farm jobs in the Capital Region. Totals had risen in the previous five months.
Statewide, there were 4.25 million nonfarm jobs in July, compared to 4.26 million in June.
