Aug. 20--The impetus for the city's urban revitalization corridor proposal was a company that was designated a special urban revitalization area last year.
Marion Brush Manufacturing, at 1685 Seventh Ave., has added more than 9,000 square feet to its 1,000 square-foot storefront, said owner Gary Bolden. To do so, the company tore down two smaller buildings that totaled about 3,000 square feet, as well as a house where Bolden's parents lived.
The couple have since moved to Hunters Ridge, an upscale Marion development.
