Article: More Tires Need to Be Recalled, Says Akron, Ohio, Consulting Firm.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Aug. 25--FORT MYERS, Fla.--An Akron tire consultant who is part of a class action lawsuit here against Bridgestone/Firestone urged the tire maker yesterday to greatly expand its recall of tires, saying millions more models pose a safety threat.

Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. needs to recall all 14- to 17-inch models of its ATX, ATX II and Wilderness AT tires, said William "Max" Nonnamaker, president of the Akron tire consulting firm Nonnamaker & Associates.

So far, the tire maker is limiting its recall to 6.5 million 15- inch tires.

"All of them should be recalled," Nonnamaker said during a press conference in this Gulf Coast city.
