Aug. 24--ROCKPORT, Ky.--Sept. 6 promises to be downright rosy in Rockport.
That's when Lauer Floral & Gift Shop will put on the city's second annual Good Neighbor Day. A nationwide promotion put on by FTD, Good Neighbor Day involves not only exchanges of roses, but also exchanges of hellos and good wishes.
"We don't talk to our neighbors enough," Carol Lauer, owner of the Rockport store, said Wednesday. She said the idea of Good Neighbor Day is to build closer communities for not just a day, but always.
Lauer Floral & Gift Shop, at 821 Sycamore St., will open at 8 a.m. that day. Rockport residents can pick up a dozen roses that day for free. ...
