Aug. 28--Some of Ana Gonzalez's customers at the Cityplace Target prefer to be waited on by her alone.
And it's not just because of her sales acumen. Ms. Gonzalez knows that her Spanish language skills are the main draw.
"They feel much more comfortable because at some stores there is no one to translate for them," said Ms. Gonzalez, who has worked at Target for three years. "And being bilingual has really helped me in the job market."
Ms. Gonzalez works in the Target jewelry department but is often called to other departments to handle inquiries from Spanishspeaking customers.
