Tanabe Research Laboratories U.S.A., Inc. announced today that Takashi Kiyoizumi, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the Company as President and CEO succeeding Elias Lazarides, Ph.D., who was President and CEO from June 1996 to March 2000. Tanabe Research Laboratories will focus more of its research capabilities in the discovery, optimization and development of anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical products for the benefit of academic and biotech collaborators and external customers. Previously, the work of the Company has been devoted primarily to the objectives of its parent company.
