In this volume, the author meticulously examines the rise and fall of the Itza Maya and their state, located in the Peten region of Northern Guatemala. Ethnohistorian Grant D. Jones has scoured the Archive of the Indies in Seville and the General Archive of Central America in Guatemala City for relevant manuscripts.
