TORONTO_Not lost in the A's quest for a playoff berth is the solid year they're getting from Gil Heredia, who entered the season as Oakland's No. 4 starter.
Heredia is accustomed to being an afterthought. He is your classic journeyman, touring four organizations before signing a minor-league contract with Oakland in January 1998.
But Heredia has won 30 games for the A's, and there was no more important entry to his personal scrapbook than Saturday's 8-0 victory over Toronto at SkyDome.
