Vice President Al Gore brought his call for a strong patients' bill of rights to thousands of cheering supporters at a downtown Seattle rally yesterday. Later, in a wide-ranging interview, he defended his running mate's right to discuss his religion and called ``The Kiss'' at the Democratic convention a response to ``the emotions of the moment.''
Gore has used a four-day swing with vice presidential nominee Joe Lieberman to hit hard at the issue of health care. But the Democrats' ticket is also facing questions about Lieberman's outspoken profession of his religious beliefs.
