Article: Channel sparks HTV fight.

THE next skirmish in the battle for the future of ITV has been triggered by Channel TV's announcement that it wants to buy HTV, the Welsh station.

Channel, the smallest ITV franchise, says it is planning to make an offer for HTV that could value it at [pound]450m.

The group, which is led by Huw Davies and David Jenkins who both worked at HTV for many years and led a management buy-in of Channel in June has the support of the Royal Bank of Scotland as well as finance from a couple of venture capital firms.
