Individuals seeking to cut excess fat from their diet often begin with dairy products like milk and cheese. They may want to reconsider this strategy, however; a recent University of Tennessee study found that calcium consumption and fat production are inversely proportional. According to Science News, the researchers first created mice that contained a human fat-cell gene called agouti, and then put these mice on a low-calorie, variable-calcium diet.
