Following the European Commission's publication at the end of July of its Green Paper on environmental problems associated with the use of PVC (see European Report No 2521 for further details), Autovinyle, the Association for the development of recycling of automotive PVC, has issued a first report on the action programme it launched three years ago. At the end of 1999, 4,400 tonnes of waste containing 2,200 tonnes of automotive PVC (polyvinyl chloride) had been recycled, compared with 1,900 tonnes the previous year.
