Sep. 7--BIZ-TO-BIZ BOOM: The number of companies doing business with each other online should quadruple by 2004, according to a new report from the Boston Consulting Group. The study predicts that business-to-business e-commerce will hit $4.8 trillion in four years, up from an estimated $1.2 trillion this year. Online purchasing will account for 40 percent of transactions, according to the study. About 11 percent of purchases will involve online price negotiations.
