After years of delay, state voters this fall will finally get a chance to keep tabs on some -- but not all -- campaign spending via the Internet, Elections Board officials say.

Until recently, voters who wanted to keep track of candidates' spending and fund-raising activities had to visit the Elections Board's office in Madison and flip through thousands of pages of campaign finance reports.

The Elections Board on Tuesday unveiled an updated Web site that will provide summaries of candidates' campaign finance reports, last-minute contributions to individual candidates, and independent spending by special-interest groups trying to help candidates.
