The recent case in Northern Kentucky highlighted Kentucky's sex offender notification law.
Kenton County Sheriff Chuck Korzenborn notified residents that a sex offender had moved into the area from Oregon, but it turned out the sex offense was because the fellow had gotten his girlfriend pregnant and since she was only about 16 years old, he was technically a sex offender under Oregon law.
When he moved to Kentucky, he was branded a sex offender as well and the sheriff notified all of his new neighbors. This designation will be with him the rest of his life.
