Count Your Way through Greece
In this primer, the numbers one through 10 are used to introduce readers to the Greek alphabet and culture. One, for example, stands for the Greek Orthodox Church, the one official religion in Greece; seven for the seven most often used ingredients in Greek cooking. Simple descriptions and explanations are enhanced by bright illustrations that reflect the Mediterranean palette as well as palate. This light but attractive introduction to things Greek may serve to whet the appetite of younger readers.
