Inspired by the improvement of the macro economic environment, the methanol market has got out of the slackness in the past two years and started a long-expected recovery.
January: The market was soft in Asia. The price offered in the Southeast Asian market was 102 - 108 U. S. dollars per ton and the mid-month average price was higher by 3 U. S. dollars per ton compared with the previous month, a growth margin of around 3%. The domestic market was also soft and the demand was reduced because of festivals.
