``We don't need Confederate History Month'' was the headline on a Saturday op-ed column by Tony Stein, a Civil War buff and retired Pilot reporter.
Obviously, the column was well-read on line. Here's what readers from here and points south (and north) had to say:

to teach the truth
Tony Stein beats the same dead horse as so many other politically correct writers of the day, telling the reader that the root cause of the War Between the States was slavery. And that because the war has been examined in book form by many authors, that it is unnecessary to bring it up again in a month of recognition.
