Plasser & Theurer, through its subsidiary, Plasserail, recently delivered its new IM2000 infrastructure measuring car to Spoornet, South Africa.
PLASSER'S self-propelled IM2000 was unveiled officially on June 29 by Spoornet's chief executive officer, Mr Zandile Jakavula, and is scheduled to enter service this month.
The IM2000 is equipped to measure and record the geometry of the track, rail, and overhead line at speeds up to 120km/h, though it will operate on the South African network at 90km/h.
