The resources were abundant, the demand was slack and there was always an oversupply in the domestic aniline market from 1996 to 1998. The highest market price in 1995 once reached 13 000 yuan per ton. The price then went all the way down to 4 900 - 5 300 yuan per ton for bulk goods in 1998, close to the low price level in the early 1990s.
