Ali Jamnia developed the Learning Station desktop computer four years ago to assist his son who is autistic.
"The saying that need is the mother of all invention is so true in this situation," said Jamnia, a mechanical engineer and researcher.
"I was trying to teach my son to use the computer when he was around 3 years old. I could see that he was not getting the hang of it. And it was also about that time that we learned that he was autistic," Jamnia said.
"I knew I had to do something from the technology point of view to help him. That's when the seed began to grow."
