Further to the announcement yesterday (14 September) that Boeing Co will be redesigning the rudder system for its 737 aircraft, the aircraft manufacture has released further details of the plan.

Boeing Co has indicated that the installation of the new rudder system will not commence until 2003 and will involve the design of new controls for the rudder and the installation of an additional valve to serve as a backup.
