BRUSSELS, Belgium, Sept. 14 CNW-AsiaNet - Speaking to European leaders at the 10th Anniversary Conference of the European Union Merger Task Force, Jacques Bougie, Alcan Aluminium's president and CEO, reflected on the regulatory complexities of international mergers and offered suggestions aimed at harmonising the process.
``At the aluminium industry level, the globalisation of economic activity has led to massive increases in trade and investments,'' Bougie said. ``Freer trade, combined with the pursuit of our customers going global, has provided a powerful impetus for international expansion.''
