Lucent Technologies' (NYSE: LU) Microelectronics Group, the world leader in communications semiconductors, today announced a sale of one of its new embedded modem chip solutions to Hewlett-Packard Company for the company's new all-in-one, multi-function products that perform printing, faxing, copying, and scanning functions.
Lucent's new embedded digital signal processor (DSP)-based modem solution, called DPV34X, provides the fax capability for HP's new products being rolled out this fall, and marks Lucent's entry into the V.34 (up to 33.6 Kilobits per second) fax modem chip market. Lucent has already begun ...
