So there was Rick Lazio, waving a piece of paper as Hillary the Warrior Princess eyed him at the debate in Buffalo much the same way the snake used to eye the mouse in the "Nature Hut" at the day camp I went to as a kid.

Lazio, of course, was employing the oldest "trick" in the political playbook: Pulling out The Pledge. In this case, it was about banning the evil "soft money" campaign contributions sanctioned, as far as I know, by Satan himself.

Predictably, it didn't work. Hillary, laughing at the tactic in light of the shadow donors funding Lazio's ...
