Sep. 18--Students, homeowners and beleaguered educators are not the only ones looking forward to the $12 billion deluge of school construction New Jersey plans to unleash next year.
Mobsters, con artists and unscrupulous contractors are probably licking their chops in anticipation of the most dollar-rich construction program New Jersey has ever attempted, said Edward M. Neafsey, the state's newly appointed corruption-buster.
In anticipation of the unsavory interest, Neafsey said he is hiring several law enforcement officers whose sole mission will be to detect or prevent mob involvement in the massive construction program.
