While a proposed boycott on his behalf could start this week, Detroit-based Burger King franchisee La-Van Hawkins has rejected the latest offer to settle his $1.9 billion lawsuit against the burger chain.
Miami-based Burger King Corp. said the offer would be its last.
``We made our best and final offer on Aug. 22. It was a substantial offer, but he officially declined the offer,'' said Kim Miller, Burger King's senior director of public relations. She wouldn't reveal the settlement amount.
Hawkins, who owns eight Burger Kings in metro Detroit and 27 nationwide, in April filed the lawsuit against Burger King in U.S. District Court in Detroit, ...
