BISOULIS MOVES EAST, WITH NEW YORK SHOWROOM
CHICAGO -- Becky Bisoulis labels herself "an incurable romantic," but she also has a practical side. The eveningwear designer knows the potential of a New York presence and plans to open her first showroom there this month in a 1,500-square-foot space at 530 Seventh Ave.
"It was either now or never," she said. Last year, Bisoulis's volume topped $1 million, and with increased visibility on the East Coast, she expects to boost sales by 50 percent this year. The bulk of her account base is with upscale specialty stores, including I. Magnin, Bonwit Teller and Sara Fredericks.
