Named after the best-known evangelist of the Western world, the Billy Graham Center has opened its doors to hundreds of thousands of people since it was dedicated on Sept. 13, 1980.
The center's 200,000-square-foot Georgian colonial building houses a museum, archives and library for evangelists-in-training as well as students, local residents and visitors from all over the globe. The original cost of $15.5 million for the building and furnishings was paid by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and given as a gift to Wheaton College.
