The old appendix did a number on me, bursting without signaling, splattering about, making my innards look like stomped-on cabbage. I didn't feel a thing, though, and continued going my merry way.
A few days later, my way was anything but merry. It was a Sunday evening when the pain started. The next morning it was worse.
