A Brick Through the Greenhouse
The Joads are in their jalopies once again, fleeing the expanding Dust Bowl; there are dikes around Manhattan to keep out the rising water; and Alaska is fast becoming our most verdant state. It is America, of course, c. 2000, year 12 of the Greenhouse Effect.
Or so the popular press would have us believe. We are skeptical--there have been droughts before, even consecutive droughts, without the ice caps sinking into the sea like ice cubes in ...
