Lenora Bacon championed Campbell County growth for decades as the first and only executive secretary of the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce.
''There was no stronger fighter for the citizens of Campbell County and what is good for Campbell County than Lenora Bacon,'' said former Judge-Executive Ken Paul.
''Lenora would live and bleed for Campbell County,'' he said.
Miss Bacon, 83, died at 10:19 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
Miss Bacon grew up in Newport and started working for the Newport Businessmen's Association in the 1930s as a volunteer, said a nephew, Robert Bacon of Highland Heights.
