The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has called for the further opening of Korea's auto, pharmaceuticals, and intellectual property markets in ``The 2000 National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers'' (NTE) released Friday.
Korea-U.S. trade experts in Washington said in the wake of the report's release that the U.S. was not likely to impose Super 301 sanctions on Korea.
They added, however, that the nation's rapid economic recovery would result in growing pressure to foster further market opening.
The report focused particularly on Canada, China, the European Union, Japan, Mexico, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Korea.
