In Korea, ``016'' is the access code for a local PCS (personal communication services) provider. To some medical doctors, ``016'' also stands for the schedule of the vaccination against B-type hepatitis for newborn babies as well as adults.
A newborn baby receives the first shot of hepatitis B vaccine upon his or her birth, the second shot one month later and the third and last one six months after the birth.
Most recipients of the three shots are immune to hepatitis B but, in rare cases, those shown not to have developed immunity to the disease receive boosted injections several years later, medical doctors say.
