A brilliant blue sky and a warm summer sun drenched a hopeful Soldier Field crowd on Sunday.
But a heavy dose of Thunder and Lightning rocked and shocked the Bears' defense during a critical third quarter, sending Bears fans home grumbling about an 0-3 start and leaving players incensed.
"It (stinks) to lose," said Bears defensive tackle Mike Wells after the 14-7 setback to the Giants.
Ron "Thunder" Dayne and Tiki "Lightning" Barber did the majority of their damage on a third-quarter scoring drive and another march that led to a turnover but left the Bears deep in Giants territory.
