A growing number of people have come down with food poisoning this month and last amid the mild spring weather, the Ministry of Health and Welfare reported yesterday.
A total of 19 suspected cases of food poisoning victimized 1,015 people in March and April, killing two, officials said.
The ministry said most of the outbreaks occurred when large groups of people gathered for birthday parties or wedding ceremonies.
On Sunday alone, some 201 people suffered food poisoning in the southeastern provinces of Kyongsang-pukto and Kyongsang-namdo.
The ministry said 700 people were hit by food poisoning this month.
