Article: GNP to Take Punitive Action Against Rep. Lee MK.

The opposition Grand National Party yesterday decided to take disciplinary action against Rep. Lee Mi-kyung, who refused to obey the party line and voted for the ratification bill on the deployment of peacekeeping troops to East Timor at the National Assembly Tuesday.

Lee is the sole lawmaker of the opposition camp who approved the ratification bill.

In the plenary session at the House, Lee went on to make a speech inculcating the need to dispatch combat troops, in spite of the party leadership's dissuasion from doing so.
