British securities house Jardine Flemming projected in an investment report yesterday that the Korean stock market will turn bearish next year after ending this year on a stronger note.

According to Jardine Flemming analysts, the appreciation of the Japanese yen and the soaring prices of dynamic random access memory chips will keep the stock market strong till the end of the year.

However, they cited five basic reasons why the market will flatten out next year, the first of which is the dwindling effects of the increase in exports resulting from a high yen since the second quarter.
