President Kim Dae-jung and former Japanese prime minister Yasuhiro Nakasone shared the consensus that Korea and Japan should remove invisible barriers in order to promote bilateral partnership and friendship.
The consensus became apparent when Nakasone, chairman of the Japan-Korea Cooperation Committee, and 23 members met President Kim Dae-jung prior to the 30th annual meeting in Seoul of the bilateral cooperation committee.
According to Chong Wa Dae spokesman Park Joon-young, President Kim stressed that Korean and Japanese leaders would make efforts to remove a ``wall of past'' to deepen amity.
